Recruitment rules for International Mobility within the SEA-nergy Project 

Attention! The submission period for abstracts for the conference ended on May 9, 2025. Currently, the recruitment of individuals whose abstracts have been accepted for oral presentations by the organizers is underway.

International conference Being SEA-EU 

Objective  

The purpose of the international conference „Being SEA-EU” is to promote science and foster integration within the academic community of the SEA-EU alliance through the presentation of research results, the exchange of experiences, and the development of international scientific cooperation. The event is interdisciplinary and open in nature, promoting European values and sustainable development. Participants include students and researchers from nine coastal partner universities. 

Destination and duration of mobility  

The international mobility will be conducted at SEA-EU’s partner university, University of Cadiz from October 22nd to October 24th, 2025 (plus two days for travel).

Set of learning outcomes (competencies):

  1. The ability to communicate scientific knowledge effectively.
  2. The ability to establish and develop international collaboration.
  3. Developing a sense of social engagement and responsibility.

Learning outcomes:

  • Knowledge – The candidate:
    1.1 possesses knowledge of methods for effectively communicating research findings, including the principles of preparing presentations and posters aimed at a broad audience.
    1.2 understands the goals of the European university alliance SEA-EU and is familiar with the mechanisms of scientific cooperation within international and inter-university projects.
    1.3 possesses knowledge about the role of science in promoting European values, sustainable development, and socio-cultural integration within the academic sphere.
  • Skills – The candidate:
    2.1. is able to prepare a scientific presentation or poster and deliver it in a clear and engaging manner to a diverse audience, both in-person and online.
    2.2. is able to actively participate in scientific discussions, ask questions, formulate arguments, and provide substantive answers, including in English.
    2.3. is able to identify opportunities for collaboration with representatives from different universities and disciplines, establish contacts, and plan joint scientific activities.
  • Social competencies – the candidate:
    3.1. demonstrates openness, respect, and willingness to collaborate with individuals from different countries and academic cultures, developing intercultural competencies.
    3.2. understands the importance of popularizing research findings and engages in activities that promote science within society, adapting the message to the needs of different audience groups.
    3.3. identifies with the idea of European integration, promotes values such as cooperation, solidarity, and equality, and supports initiatives aligned with the principles of sustainable development.

Participants of the mobility 

To apply for the mobility, candidate must be an active student/PhD student or Academic Staff of the University of Gdańsk on the day of applying for the recruitment process and the planned mobility. Applicants are not allowed to be on any type of leave.The participant’s declared English language level is a minimum of B2.

All candidates are required to complete a special registration form at: 

https://forms.office.com/e/XqSw1zRkrg One of the elements of the application form is a cover letter justifying the choice of mobility which should raise the candidate’s competence. The form must be completed and submitted by June 30th, 2025

The order of funding allocation depends on the total number of points obtained – applications with a higher total score will have priority in funding allocation and will be processed according to the ranking list.  

The candidates who have submitted a complete set of required documents and met the mobility criteria may be eligible for mobility. In particular, confirmation of the acceptance of an oral presentation abstract by the organizers is required. Funds have been allocated for six participants for this purpose (6 students and 6 Academic Staff).

Recruitment results 

The committee responsible for verifying and evaluating the applications is required to prepare a ranking list, dividing it into the list of qualified candidates, reserve candidates, and those who do not meet the criteria. All candidates participating in the recruitment process will be individually informed about the results via email by July 14th, 2025. The list of selected candidates will also be available on the website https://sea-eu.ug.edu.pl/aktualnosci/.  

Funding may be granted for the implementation of the mobility between 22 and 24 October 2025, plus two days for travel. The funding must be used to cover travel expenses, accommodation, and daily allowances. Detailed list of funding rates is available on the website. The funding is paid as a lump sum:  

  • student 5375 PLN  
  • doctoral student 5625 PLN  
  • academic staff 6250 PLN

Those who are qualified for mobility are required to complete the following: 

Documentation after mobility 

Those who complete the mobility are required to: 

  • complete an online post-test which measures the participants’ knowledge and skills after the course, 
  • provide the original certificate of stay at the partner university, 
  • settlement of overseas business travel 

Completion of mobility 

Those who according to the test have improved their competencies during the mobility will receive a certificate. 

The verification of learning outcomes includes completing a post-test, in which the participant should achieve a higher score compared to the pre-test in order to receive a certificate of competence enhancement. Both tests are completed remotely via the Microsoft Forms application.
